Matthew Bashaw is a Alternative Country musician, based out of Salt Lake City, Utah. Often compared to the likes of Ryan Adams, and Ray Lamontagne, his music is bittersweet, sincere, and most importantly honest. Having grown up in the small town of Manti, he often speaks of religious conflict, and battles with guilt that keep his music hopeful, yet extremely morose. His first record (Heartsweat) was reviewed as being down to earth, wholesome and clean. When asked to comment, he replied: “There’s nothing clean about being down to earth.
